We don't have to meet face to face,
We don't have to sit side by side,
We can send a daily email
And with words dry eyes that cried.
I received your uplifting webpage
From a very special friend,
I read the part about your heart
Which needed some comfort to mend.
I've walked that same dark pathway,
I've seen the sun go down,
I thought I could never enjoy life again
And my smiles turned upside down.
But I had a friend who helped me
To see that one day I would be
Happy to greet each morning
From sadness to be set free.
So I reached across the airwaves
And told you I understood
Your days of darkness would
End one day
And your life would again be good.
It amazed and delighted my heart
When you wrote back to me
And that was a brand new start
For a friendship God meant to be.
I'm so happy your heart is healing
And you must live one day at a time,
Hours of joy reading and
Publishing rhymes.
I think of you every day my friend
I'm humbled to know you care.
I will continue to stay in touch with you
I have lots of time to spare.
