I Walked Alone

I walked alone today
but I was not filled with sadness
for today, when loneliness crept in,
I distinctly felt a stirring in my heart,
and I knew
that God was walking with me
to help me, to comfort me
and to bless me.

I walked alone today
and the birds were still singing,
the flowers were still blooming
and the soft breeze stirred the trees
and let me know
that God was there
to help me, to comfort me
and to bless me.

I walked alone today
but I was not alone
for the memories of the past
flooded my soul
with joyously sweet images,
and the feeling of loss was lessened
because God was there
to help me, to comfort me
and to bless me.

Thank you, Lord,
for walking with me today!

You are not walking alone
because...

Today, I offer to you my prayers and sympathy...
Today, I come to bring you encouragement...
Today, I come to reassure you that God loves you...
And today, I bring the good news that...
You'll never walk alone
as long as you hold onto
our Lord's hand.

Praying that you'd feel
the mighty presence
of our Lord
every day
as He walks you out of
the valley of sorrow
and into the rich, fertile land of Promise.
