Dad's Love
Love of my dad was like a beacon
Spreading a very bright light
Always ready to answer our call
When we needed him in the dark night.
Dad's love reached up like a high tower
Standing tall above the crowd
His smile was like sunbeams
Shining through the dark clouds.
Dad's love for mom was a sanctuary
Where he found peace and rest
From life's struggles and tension
For her, Dad always did his best.
Dad gave his love so freely
We kids were never left out
Always knew where we stood
With Dad there was never a doubt.
Dad was very old fashioned
Believed in God's enduring love
Teaching us His love was unfailing
And to give thanks to God above.
